Consciousness and Limits of Science

I have been watching a fantastic series of Open University ‘Boundaries of the Knowable’ videos by Professor Russell Stannard OBE on YouTube. The whole series is worth watching. Highly recommended.

Below is the one I started with: Consciousness and Limits of Science.

They must be uncomfortable watching for atheists as, though the lectures are not religious, they refute some atheistic claims that all that can be known can be knowable through science.

I loved the one where how ponders the question of what existed before the Big Bang. Sorry, don’t remember which one it was now, you will have to watch them all.

Of course I like the explanation in 1 John 1:1-2. Is this pre big bang?

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched— this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. The life appeared; we have seen it and testify to it, and we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and has appeared to us.
